Mom and I went to Target today and I got some pajamas. :)
I also got an Ireland calendar and "Beach Music" by Pat Conroy (another one of my favorite books) at Barnes & Noble.
I got Vroom's latest, "Rosebud." I was so excited to find that.
I also got some stationary! :)
Nat and I saw "Uptown Girls" last night. It was okay...not great...but okay. I was a little disappointed, and so was she, but it wasn't like, awful.
I went to the library yesterday to find those Writer's Market books...I did my research and found out that first, to try to get published, you need to send the publishing company a query letter stating the hook of the book, the handle (which, they explained, is kind of like stating the genre of your novel/short story and the audience it'll most likely apply to), your credentials, credits, a mini-synopsis, and a closing. You don't send your manuscript right away. They'll reply and let you know whether they want the manuscript or not...if they do, they'll usually ask you to provide them with a synopsis (which basically tells them what your book is about) along with it. I was actually quite proud of myself that I found all this out...'cause I've never been too good at research. I hardly ever find what I'm looking for. That's why I'm worried about research projects in college...I'm not even sure I know how to use a card catalog...and I never find what I'm looking for when I try to do searches on the computer. Either I just don't know HOW to research, or I'm too lazy to really LOOK. *shrug* Anyway, I was happy that I found all that out. Now I just need to find a publishing company. Jared read my first ('cause previously I'd been working on a novel but every time I start a novel...I NEVER finish it. The only thing I ever finished was, don't laugh, *NSYNC fan-fiction. Haha.) short story the other day and told me I should try to get it published. So I'm trying. But I should probably contact a magazine company rather than a book company...'cause it's a short story, not a book. Yeah.
I've been packing...almost done.
